Principal and Title IX Coordinator, Elise Taylor

Dear Parents and Stakeholders,

Hello and welcome to S. Bryan Jennings Elementary school.  I am honored and excited to be leading this fantastic school where we celebrate learning! My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has developed over the twenty plus years that I have served in Clay County schools as a classroom teacher, ESE teacher, Support facilitator, Assistant Principal, and now Principal.  In each of my roles I have sought to ensure the success of each student by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities possible. My number one priority at SBJ is to ensure every scholar receives the best education possible to ensure he/she is ready to reach their full potential with  future goals and aspirations.

S. Bryan Jennings Elementary is part of the Clay County School District. We are a Pre-K-6 Title 1 school offering a multitude of academic services and supports to over 500 scholars. Our teachers are all highly qualified and we have several additional instructional staff members to provide academic support to students. Through a shared commitment to learning the faculty, staff, scholars, administration, and parents monitor progress and academic success. We celebrate the learning journey of each individual and work to ensure that we maximize collaboration and engagement within our classrooms. We are grateful for the parental and community support we receive as we work together to ensure our scholars reach their goals.

We offer a multitude of opportunities for our scholars. Every third through sixth grade student has a chromebook to utilize during the school day for educational purposes. Kindergarten through second grade students visit the chromebook labs daily and also have access to several chromebooks within their classrooms through small group rotations. Each student has a data notebook to track their progress and set goals throughout the year. Additionally, we have track, chorus, NFL PLay 60, art club, robotics, and safety patrols to name a few of our exciting, extracurricular activities. SBJ also focuses on ‘PAWSitive’ behavior and ensures we are developing the whole child with character education embedded into our daily routines. With rigorous academics, a highly qualified instructional staff, ample amounts of technology, social emotional education, and many extracurricular activities, SBJ provides something for everyone as they embrace their educational journey.

I am so honored to be a part of SBJ and Clay County Schools.  Thank you to all our staff, parents, and community members that make each day meaningful for the scholars we serve.  I look forward to the future that lies ahead as we continue to prepare our scholars for their future.

Sincerely,

Elise Taylor
